Great time of year for spotting dolphins

Our B&B guests have recently had great success seeing dolphins in the Moray Firth, either from the classic dolphin spotting point at Chanonry Point, which has recently been developed, or from the other side of the narrow channel at Fort George. Now that the waters are a little warmer, the dolphins certainly seem to be very active. Dolphins can be seen here at any time, but the best time is on a rising tide. From around 1 hour after a low tide, the tide turns and the dolphins start to chase fish. It is amazing to watch as they jump and twist in the air and definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
