The horse riding in the South Loch Ness area is exceptionally good. There is a huge variety of terrain and a great network of paths. It is the quiet side of the Loch and folk come for the nature. There are real chances of seeing a lot of wildlife; hare, fox, badger, pine marten, red squirrel, red, roe and sika deer, birds of prey including red kite, osprey, sparrow hawk, hen harrier, kestrel.  Facilities are available in the Loch Ness area for beginners and experienced riders. Loch Ness Riding at Dores only caters for experienced riders (English style) but no jumping is required. We offer hacks, which can be of any length from an hour to a full day with trail rides of several days by special arrangement. The horses that are used for clients are quality sports horses and because they are never ridden by novices that are beautifully responsive.

This is a BHS approved centre and is also highly recommended for those who would like to bring their own horse with them on holiday to explore the area. Guiding can be arranged if required. Lessons, clinics and camps are also available from qualified instructors so you can improve your skills.
