Loch Ness Etape

The third annual Etape Loch Ness took place on Sunday 24th April 2016. This 6 6mile, closedroad, cycle sportive round Loch Ness has quickly become one of the biggest events in the cycling calendar and the 4,000+ places were quickly snapped up.

The inspiring landscape of the Loch Ness area draws cyclists from all over the world but the event is equally loved by local cyclists who grab the opportunity to ride on the north shore of the Loch without the usual motor traffic on the A82.

The quieter roads of South Loch Ness are popular for cycling throughout the year. The National Cycle Network Route 78 now runs down the South side of Loch Ness and offers a largely trafficfree link between Inverness and the Loch Ness village of Dores. More adventurous cyclists can find plenty of challenging gradients on the roads that climb the steep sides of the Great Glen towards the less well known but equally scenic Lochs of Strathnairn.

Registration of interest for the 2017 Etape Loch Ness can be made on the website at www.etapelochness.com
