Inverness Castle Opening To Public

Inverness Castle is such a famous landmark in the city, purched on the hill overlooking the river. Over the years many visitors have wanted to see inside and learn the history of the building, unfortunately until recently i was not open to the public, it being occupied instead by official offices and the Sherrifs Courts.

However there have been moves recently to change this and we're glad to see the first phase of this this April when a viewpoint on top of the castle opens to the public. This will give amazing views of the river, the city and right out to Invernesses Munro, Ben Wyvis.

Full details can be seen in the leaflet below.

Recently Highland Council gave the go-ahead for the building of a new legal centre in the city, once this is built, and it is hoped this will be completed in 2018, all the official offices and courts will be able to move out of the castle and it can then be opened up fully to visitors.

We are very much looking forward to this.
